About
I’ve been in ministry for 34 years, but longevity isn’t the point—formation is.
One Scripture that has quietly shaped my life is Psalm 105:19:
“Until the time his word came to pass, the word of the Lord tested him.”
That verse has followed me and sustained me through decades of ministry—through calling, obedience, waiting, disappointment, betrayal, unanswered prayers, and growth. Like Joseph, I’ve pursued what I believe God has spoken, while learning not to let the tests, hurts in ministry, disappointment in leaders, or the struggles of life distract me from that call.
My journey with Jesus began as a teenager after a life-changing encounter with the person of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit. That moment didn’t make life easier—it made it clearer. I became convinced early on that Christianity without the Holy Spirit becomes performance, and faith without transformation becomes isn’t real.
Over the years, I’ve planted multiple churches, pastored at every level—from grassroots gatherings to large ministry contexts—and led conferences that brought together believers from diverse backgrounds. I’ve seen church done in living rooms and on big stages. I’ve watched movements grow—and sometimes lose their way.
Through it all, my heart has remained the same:
I want a real move of God, not a polished religious experience. I believe the Church should look far more like the first-century Church than a concert venue. Less spectacle. More formation. Less consumption. More participation. Church should feel more like going to the gym than going to the movies—a place where people are trained, strengthened, challenged, and transformed, not just entertained

I also carry a deep burden for those who have been hurt, disillusioned, or pushed away by the Church. I don’t believe the answer is walking away from Jesus—but I do believe many people walked away because they were wounded by people who misrepresented Him. Part of my calling is to help create spaces where healing, honesty, and trust can be rebuilt—without pressure, manipulation, or pretending.

Today, I pastor 516 Ministries in Fort Worth and The Gathering Place Church in Leonard, Texas, while also hosting the 516 Mission Podcast. My teaching focuses on Scripture that tests us, refines us, and shapes us into people who actually look like Jesus in the real world.
I’m passionate about the work of the Holy Spirit—not hype, not emotional manipulation, but the Spirit who convicts, comforts, empowers, and produces lasting fruit. I believe the Church desperately needs less branding and more obedience.
I’m also deeply committed to thoughtful conversations with non-believers—not to win arguments, but to remove unnecessary barriers and present a faith that is intellectually honest, biblically grounded, and lived with integrity.
Outside of ministry, I’m a dad to Emma, Evan, and Annalise. That role brings me joy, keeps me grounded and regularly reminds me that good theology should make you a better human.
The 516 Mission flows from a simple conviction rooted in Matthew 5:16:
Our lives should shine light, do good, and reflect Our Great Father.
Anything less misses the point.
516 Mission – Shine Light. Do Good. Don't be an idiot.
